General Questions
Do you only come as a duo?
We primarily perform as a violin and viola duo, but we can also provide solo violin/viola or string trios/quartets depending on what you want. Any solo instrumentation will automatically come with amplification and backing tracks if applicable.
What style of music do you typically play?
Our repertoire is diverse, ranging from classical to contemporary pop arrangements, movie soundtracks, and jazz standards. We love blending different genres to create a unique atmosphere.
How long have you been performing together?
As Solstice Strings, we have been professional best friends and musical partners for nearly a decade, performing at over a thousand weddings and corporate events across Central Florida.
Do you travel for performances?
While we are based in Orlando, we frequently travel for events throughout Florida and are available for destination weddings and performances worldwide upon request.
Services & Booking
What types of events do you perform for?
We specialize in weddings, corporate dinners, private soirées, and cocktail hours. Whether it's a grand ceremony or an intimate gathering, our strings bring a refined touch to any occasion.
Can you play custom song requests?
Absolutely. While we have an extensive repertoire across genres, we love creating custom arrangements for your special moments. Please provide requests at least 4 weeks before the event.
How far in advance should we book?
To ensure availability, we recommend booking at least 6 months in advance, especially for peak wedding seasons in Central Florida (October - April). However, feel free to inquire about last-minute dates.
What is included in the booking?
Our services include performance time, travel within the local area, professional-grade sound equipment if needed, and a consultation to finalize your musical theme and timeline.
Technical Details
What are your power requirements for outdoor events?
We require at least one standard 120V outlet within 20 feet of the performance area. For completely acoustic sets, no power is needed, but amplification is recommended for groups larger than 50 guests.
Do you provide your own sound system?
Yes, we can provide a compact, professional-grade PA system suitable for ceremonies and cocktail hours. For larger venues or when connecting to a DJ's system, we provide balanced XLR outputs.
What are your chair and spacing requirements?
We require armless chairs for all musicians. A duo requires approximately 6x6 feet of level space, while a quartet needs roughly 10x10 feet to perform comfortably and safely with instruments.
What is your policy for instrument protection in extreme weather?
Our professional instruments are highly sensitive to heat and moisture. We require full shade and a dry, level surface. We cannot perform in direct sunlight over 85°F or in any amount of precipitation.
